Email cgrinfo@pitt.edu for details and gift tags.

Share joy this season — add just one gift for a child in need to your holiday shopping list.

Community and Governmental Relations’ holiday gift drive is taking place now through Wednesday, Dec. 13. Gifts will be distributed to children at Christmas Day at Pitt, the University’s annual event for those in need, and to community partners. Gifts should have a retail value of $20 to $25 and be wrapped as a holiday present, with a visible and secure tag containing information about the appropriate  age and gender child for the gift.

For details and gift tags, contact CGR by email at cgrinfo@pitt.edu or phone at 624-7755. Drop off gifts at the Office of Community and Governmental Relations in 710 Alumni Hall or contact CGR to arrange for a departmental pick up.

Additionally, the Pitt Winter Essentials Drive helps neighbors who need it most. Donations of new hats, gloves, scarves and socks help bring warmth to Pitt neighbors of all ages. Apparel will be given to those in the community who need them most, including attendees at the annual Christmas Day at Pitt event and those identified by local partner organizations.

Winter apparel donations can be dropped off at 17 locations across the Pittsburgh campus:

  • Alumni Hall
  • Benedum Hall
  • Cathedral of Learning
  • Craig Hall
  • Eureka Building
  • Hillman Library
  • Mervis Hall
  • O’Hara Student Center
  • Park Plaza
  • Petersen Events Center
  • Public Safety Building
  • Scaife Hall
  • Thackeray Hall
  • Thomas Boulevard
  • Posvar Hall
  • University Store on Fifth
  • William Pitt Union

Also, this year, CGR has a convenient online donation option through its Amazon Wish List.
