• Holiday Kettle Challenge

Friday, Nov. 29-Monday, Dec. 24

Volunteers will staff the kettle to raise funds for the area’s needy. Work at a location of your choice.

• Global Links Medical Supplies

Tuesday, Dec. 10, 5:30-7:30 pm

Volunteers will be working at the Bloomfield offices of Global Links, an international aid organization that collects and repackages surplus medical supplies for distribution to needy countries worldwide.

• SIDS Holiday Gift Wrapping

No. 29-Dec. 24, 10 am-2 pm, 2-6 pm or 6-10 pm

Volunteers will wrap holiday gifts at the Robinson Town Centre Mall to benefit the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Alliance.

• Christmas Dinner for the Homeless

Wednesday, Dec. 25, 10 am-2 pm

Pittsburgh’s major hotels are joining forces with the Salvation Army to offer a holiday dinner to the area’s several thousand homeless people. Help is needed to serve and greet guests at five Downtown and Oakland hotels: Pittsburgh Hilton & Towers; Holiday Inn – Select (Oakland); Westin Convention Center; Marriott City Center; Omni William Penn.

• First Night

Tuesday, Dec. 31, 4-7:30 pm, 6:30-10 pm or 9:30 pm-midnight.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at First Night Pittsburgh on the streets of Downtown. Volunteers will serve in a variety of roles: site manager, button checker, booth staff or fire tender.
