Asian studies now is center

The Asian studies program, part of Pitt’s University Center for International Studies, has been renamed the Asian Studies Center.

According to information provided by Dianne F. Dakis, assistant direct for student affairs at the center, Asian studies-affiliated faculty and the University’s senior administration determined that the designation of center reflected the mission and activities of the unit more accurately.

The Asian Studies Center continues to be the Pitt organization for faculty and graduate and undergraduate students whose scholarly interests focus on countries and cultures of Asia.
