Staff Association Council sets up book fund

The Staff Association Council (SAC) has established a scholarship book fund for Pitt students who are dependent children of staff members.

Pitt undergraduates who meet specified criteria will be eligible to receive money for books from the restricted fund, which will come from staff donations.

According to SAC vice president for steering Barbara Mowery, the Staff Association Council Book Fund for Children of Staff is designed to help undergraduates in good academic standing who are in financial need. "Undergrads on all the Pitt campuses are eligible," Mowery said. "Financial need will be determined by the Financial Aid office. We're still working out some of the details, but the fund itself is approved."

Details will be forthcoming in the fall SAC Tracks newsletter, Mowery said.
