UPCI web site gives current information on cancer

The University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (UPCI) has launched a newly redesigned web site to provide the public with an up-to-date source of cancer information and services.

Site visitors can read the latest information on the detection, diagnosis and treatment of various types of cancer. They also can download descriptions of ongoing clinical trials, pose cancer-related questions and direct requests to schedule appointments to staff of UPCI's Cancer Information and Referral Service (CIRS).

The web site also provides information on various services available through UPCI, as well as links to regional and national organizations. UPCI's web site also contains information for western Pennsylvania health care professionals.

Funding for the site was provided by the Claude Worth-ington Benedum Foundation and the Emma Clyde Hodge Memorial Fund.
