Greensburg concludes internal campaign

Last month, the Greensburg campus concluded its first internal campaign fund-raising effort since the mid-1980s with an overall participation rate of 76 percent. The 11-week campaign was part of the campus's $12.6 million "Investing in Excellence" capital campaign, set to continue until 2005.

"We are very pleased with this extraordinary level of participation," said Greensburg campus President Frank A. Cassell. "The 76 percent faculty and staff giving rate, coupled with the more than 60 percent current giving rate for our Advisory Board, send a clear signal that our own people believe in this campus and are committed to its progress."

Cassell added that "UPG alumni giving is now better than 20 percent, a giving rate that has improved dramatically over the past few years."

The purpose of the internal campaign was to demonstrate to the corporate and foundation community that Greensburg faculty and staff supported campus fund-raising, campaign officials said.
