PM parking open to employee-students

side_photo4Staff and faculty who also are enrolled as students now have an additional on-campus evening parking option, thanks to a new permit program offered by Parking, Transportation and Services.

The program, previously offered only to students, is designed to address the needs of staff and faculty who are registered for evening or Saturday classes and do not have University daytime parking permits.

For a fee of $62 per semester, employees who are enrolled students can purchase an evening parking permit that allows campus parking after 2:50 or 4:50 p.m. — depending on the lot/garage — until midnight on weekdays and all day on weekends.

Parking is available after 2:50 p.m. at lots F, OC, OH, PF, PH, SO, U and UD; and after 4:50 p.m. at lots A, E, G, K, P, PG, RA and SC.

No parking is available during special events in lots E, SC, F, OC or OH.

Permit purchasers also can use their Pitt ID cards, which will be activated to allow entrance into the O’Hara (OH) garage or the Soldiers & Sailors (SO) garage after 2:50 p.m. weekdays, as well as all day on weekends at Soldiers & Sailors. This option will save drivers a trip to the cashier station before exiting.

Parking is based on availability.

The permits can be obtained at the Parking Services office, 204 Brackenridge Hall. There is no payroll deduction option; the fee can be paid via cash, MasterCard, Visa, Discover or check. For more information, call 4-4034.
