UPMC wins national recognition

UPMC Health System has been placed on U.S. News & World Report's America's Best Hospitals honor roll as one of the "best of the best" hospitals in the United States.

UPMC Health System hospitals placed 16th out of 1,878 eligible hospitals in the United States. UPMC Presbyterian placed in 11 specialty areas and UPMC's Magee-Womens Hospital was ranked in gynecology.

UPMC Health System is recognized in 12 specialty areas: 6th in ear, nose and throat; 10th in psychiatry; 11th in digestive disorders; 13th in gynecology and orthopedics; 15th in cancer and kidney disease; 17th in rheumatology and respiratory disorders; 21st in cardiology; 23rd in hormonal disorders (diabetes and other glandular conditions), 31st in geriatrics. Children's ranked 4th in pediatrics.
