Vanpools could be alternative to flying

To the editor:

Given the unwillingness of some to fly and the delays at airports, it might make sense for the University's transportation department to create a vanpool to nearby cities (such as Washington, D.C., Harrisburg and Philadelphia) to which many Pitt faculty travel frequently. A vanpool, unlike driving oneself, would allow passengers to read, work or sleep.
