Jacqueline Jones Royster, dean of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts and professor of English at the Georgia Institute of Technology, was the keynote speaker for the annual Provost’s Faculty Diversity Seminar.

Her talk, “Thinking Sideways,” presented May 8 in Alumni Hall, focused on ways to develop empathy and critical thinking and listening skills in the classroom.

The annual two-week-long diversity seminar provides fellowships for 10 faculty members to redesign their courses to be more inclusive.
