Katz staffer wins major book prize
Sharon G. Flake, a staff member at the Katz Graduate School of Business, has won an American Library Association (ALA) Coretta Scott King Honor Award for 2002 for her book, "Money Hungry," published by Hyperion Books for Children/Jump at the Sun.
The book's 13-year-old heroine, Raspberry Hill, hoards her savings and will do almost anything short of committing crimes to earn money, in the hope that she and her mother can move to a safer neighborhood.
The Coretta Scott King Awards honor African-American authors and illustrators of outstanding books for children and young adults.
