Stargate offers Pitt customers special rates

Stargate, the preferred internet service provider for Pitt, has extended its special rate for new DSL customers until June 30.

Pitt faculty, staff and students who sign up for DSL service through Stargate will receive three months of service for $100. The discount is equivalent to one month of free service.

Stargate also is waiving its $99 service activation fee during the promotion. The offer is available on the first level DSL service to Pitt individuals for whom DSL service is available through Verizon, NPTCO and Penn Telecom.

In addition, Stargate is extending a special 10 percent discount off the monthly service rate as a standing offer to the Pitt community.

Under the University's agreement with Stargate, faculty, staff and students have access to all restricted University network resources. Dial-up service also is available at a discounted rate of $16.95 per month to members of the University community.

As a summer promotion, Stargate is offering a limited use dial-up plan for just $6.95 per month for up to 10 hours usage. Additional time will be billed at $1 per hour. This offer is being extended through Aug. 31, with the regular $16.95 rate taking effect on Sept. 1.
