Trustees' committee OKs student fee increases at three regional campuses
Student fee increases at three Pitt regional cam- puses — Greensburg, Johnstown and Titusville — were approved by the trustees' student affairs committee May 11.
The increases, which would take effect in fall 2000, require approval by the full Board of Trustees. The board is expected to vote on the hikes at its June 29 ©ˆmeeting.
At Greensburg, the intercollegiate athletics fee would rise from $40 to $55 per semester for full-time students, and from $8 to $10 per semester for part-time students. The student activity fee would increase from $35 to $40 per semester for full-time students, and from $12 to $14 per semester for part-timers. The student center fee would go from $32 to $37 per semester for full-time students and from $12 to $14 per semester for part-timers. The orientation fee would go from $35 to $40 for each freshman or transfer student.
Each increase was endorsed by Greensburg's advisory board and student government association.
The Johnstown campus's student activity fee would rise from $48 to $58 per semester for full-time students, an increase endorsed by the campus's advisory board and student government association. A new, $15-per-semester health fee for each full-time student would be assessed, a move recommended by the campus's administration and advisory board.
Johnstown is the only Pitt campus that currently does not charge a student health fee.
At Titusville, the orientation fee would go from $35 to $45 for each new full-time student. The campus advisory board's executive committee recommended the increase.
