HIV/AIDS Film Series

Saturday, April 15, 11 am-5 pm

Volunteers will assist Pitt’s Center for Minority Health in presenting this National Minority Health Month activity in Pittsburgh’s East End.

Schenley Park Restoration

Saturday, April 22, and Saturday, April 29, 9 am-1 pm

In a joint effort by the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and Citiparks, Pitt volunteers will be assisting with transplanting native plants to the Schenley Park watershed, as well as completing a variety of other tasks to restore Schenley Park Lake. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, as will all tools and gloves.

Infant Mortality Walk

Saturday, April 29, 8-10 am

Based on studies done at Pitt, the city has the highest black infant mortality rate of any place in the United States. As a part of National Minority Health Month, volunteers will assist with this walk to draw attention and resources to this serious problem. Volunteers will work from an East End location.

Oakland Neighborhood Flower Garden

Saturday, May 6, 9 am-noon

Volunteers will plant a highly visible flower bed in a neighborhood close to campus. All tools and gloves will be provided.

Pedal Pittsburgh

Sunday, May 21, 6-9 am, 9 am-1 pm or 1-4 pm

Volunteers will help to staff Pedal Pittsburgh, the city’s premier bicycling event benefiting the Pittsburgh Design Center.
