Housing sought for new students, visiting scholars

The Housing Resource Center is looking for members of the Pitt community who are willing to house new or visiting students and scholars on a short- or long-term basis.

Under the program, the Housing Resource Center will share the names of participating faculty and staff with students and scholars relocating to Pittsburgh.

The Housing Resource Center will not assign students or scholars to homes, but will link students and scholars with prospective hosts; the two parties will work out the details.

Most stays will be for several nights at the beginning of the semester, but could be extended if both sides agree. Accommodations can be as simple as a room or as elaborate as an apartment.

Meals may be offered with the family or the student could simply be given kitchen privileges. Rooms can be offered gratis or for a modest fee.

Details on the program are available by calling the Housing Resource Center, 624-6998.
