Nobel laureate to lecture here Nov. 13

Oscar Arias, former president of Costa Rica and a Nobel laureate, will deliver the inaugural Global Integration Lecture on Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. at the Twentieth Century Club.

Arias's appearance is sponsored by the University Center for International Studies and the World Federalist Association of Pittsburgh. Lecture tickets are available on a first-come basis by calling 648-7392.

Arias was president of Costa Rica from 1986 to 1990. While president, he authored the Central American Peace Agreement of 1986-87, for which he was awarded the 1987 Nobel Peace Prize. He also is the recipient of the Martin Luther King Peace Prize, the Prince of Asturias Prize, the National Audubon Society Prize and the Liberty Medal from the University of Pennsylvania.
