UPMC wins employment award

UPMC Health System has been awarded the 1997 Supported Employer Award from Competitive Employment Opportunities (CEO), a non-profit agency that helps secure jobs for severely disabled persons.

Currently, six CEO clients are employed by the UPMC Health System. Two are in the dietary department of UPMC St. Margaret, one at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, and three in the records department of UPMC Presbyterian.

"We are proud to do our part to help people with disabilities take their rightful place as contributing members of society," said Sidney Seligman, vice president of Human Resources for UPMC Health System. "Our patients and their families benefit from their skills and insight."
