UPG president to be installed

Frank A. Cassell will be installed as the third president of the Greensburg campus March 25.

More than 150 academic deans, faculty members and administrators from colleges and universities across the state are expected to join local community and University leaders at the installation.

Ceremonies begin on the Greensburg campus at 1 p.m. with an academic symposium, "A New Age Begins: Liberal Arts Education in the 21st Century." Installation ceremonies will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Smith Hall.

Cassell became president of the Greensburg campus in August 1997, following the retirement of George Chambers.

Prior to assuming the presidency of the Greensburg campus, Cassell served as vice provost and dean of the Albert A. Robin campus of Roosevelt University in Schaumberg, Ill. From 1967 to 1991, he served on the faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he held numerous administrative positions, including assistant chancellor for university relations and interim dean of the school of social welfare.
