Multimedia fair use guidelines subject of video-conference
Pitt's Center for Instructional Development and Distance Education will host a live video-conference on "Multimedia Fair Use Guidelines" on Sept. 21, 1-3 p.m., in 211 David Lawrence Hall.
The conference is for the first dissemination of copyright guidelines for multimedia developed by the U.S. Copyright Office and the Consortium of College and University Medical Centers.
Representatives from publishing, recording, motion media and music industries will join with those from educational associations and institutions, and government agencies to answer call-in questions from the audience.
A series of vignettes also will be presented to illustrate what does and does not constitute multimedia fair use and the expectations related to intellectual property, attribution, citation and creative integrity.
