A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, in Heinz Memorial Chapel for Amy Guckes, manager of corporate matching gifts in the development office of Institutional Advancement. Guckes, who was 26, died Nov. 22, 1995, after a three-year battle with leukemia.

Guckes began working at the University in 1986 as a student employee in the Office of the Vice President for University Relations and Development. In 1989, she joined the Office of Institutional Advancement as an administrative assistant.

She is survived by her parents, David and Mary Heckman Guckes; two sisters, who both worked for the University previously, Juliann Guckes and Jamie (Guckes) Willis; a grandmother, Regina Heckman, a brother-in-law, Jason Willis, and a niece, Jemma. She also was the sister of the late Chad David Guckes.
