Engineering receives endowment
Pitt's School of Engineering has received a $100,000 endowment in honor of Robert Rumcik, of Ellwood Quality Steel Co.
The gift, made possible by David E. Barensfeld, president and chief executive officer of the Ellwood Group, will provide annual full tuition for an undergraduate in materials science and engineering.
In 1985, Rumcik was instrumental in mapping a strategy for modernizing the steel company and making it globally competitive.
