UPJ vice president accepts Shepherd College presidency

David L. Dunlop, vice president for Academic Affairs at Pitt's Johnstown campus (UPJ), will leave UPJ in July to become president of Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W. Va.

Dunlop has been a UPJ faculty member since 1973. He served as UPJ's interim president after the retirement of President Frank H. Blackington in December 1993 until the arrival of President Albert Etheridge in July 1994.

From 1984 to 1995, Dunlop also directed the Information Technology Education for the Commonwealth Computer Resources Center at UPJ.

"The UPJ community is sad to see Dr. Dunlop leave this campus," Etheridge said. "He has provided much leadership to the college over the many years he has served here. However, we congratulate him on this appointment and wish him well in his new position." A search committee will be appointed to fill the position of vice president for Academic Affairs. No one as yet has been named to serve as interim vice president for Academic Affairs.
