Former President Bush to speak here

Former U.S. President George Bush will be the featured speaker at the 1996 Pitt Ambassadors scholarship dinner on April 18 at 6 p.m. in the Pittsburgh Hilton and Towers.

Pitt Ambassadors is a partnership between the University and area businesses committed to education. Each year, the program awards two four-year scholarships to area high school students who choose to attend Pitt.

Scholarships are given to academically accomplished students who also have made significant contributions to their schools and communities, and would benefit from financial assistance. Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the dinner.

Reservations are available by calling Corporate and Foundation Relations, 624-5800.

A gold table, which includes 10 dinner tickets and four tickets for a private reception with former President Bush, costs $3,000. A blue table, which includes 10 dinner tickets, is $2,000. Individual tickets may be purchased for $250. The deadline for reservations is April 8. All proceeds from the dinner go to support the scholarships.
