Alice Marie Lawson

Alice Marie Lawson, grants manager in the Pulmonary Medicine Division of the School of Medicine for 10 years, died July 16 at her home in Brookline. The cause of death was cardiovascular disease.

"She basically was the foundation of all of our work," said Michael Donahue, an associate professor in pulmonary medicine. "She did all of our grant applications and supervised every aspect of grant submissions. She was the foundation of our office." Lawson was preceded in death by her husband, William Bennett Lawson Jr. She is survived by her mother, Mary Anne Webb of Florida; three daughters, Patricia Lawson Evans of Pleasant Hills; Rosemary Lawson Seifert of California and Alice Elizabeth Lawson of Castle Shannon, and six grandchildren.

Services are being held today, July 20, at St. Elizabeth Church in Carrick.
