Joan Chambers
Joan Chambers, 65, the wife of Greensburg campus president George F. Chambers, died Sept. 23, 1994, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital in Greensburg.
In addition to her efforts on behalf of the Greensburg campus, Chambers was a member of numerous Westmoreland County organizations, including the College Club, the Westmoreland Museum and the Latrobe Library. A graduate of the State University of New York in nursing, she earned a master's degree in community health education at Adelphi University, Long Island.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three children, George F. Chambers, Jr., Susan Chambers Johnson and Bonnie H. Chambers; a son-in-law, James K. Johnson; three sisters, Vera Harden, Dorothy Sabo and Irene Skidmore; and a brother, John Tokar.
