HUD funds GSPIA scholarships

Three new work/study community development scholarships will be offered to incoming students in the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) beginning with the 1995-96 academic year. Women, minority and disabled students are encouraged to apply.

Funds for the scholarships are being provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to support full-time graduate study in the degree programs of master of urban and regional planning and master of public administration.

Scholarships include full tuition, a work placement stipend in an internship position with the Borough of Wilkinsburg for $9,000 per year, and up to $1,500 per year for textbooks, materials and conference attendance support.

Recipients will work 15 hours per week during their four academic terms and full-time during the summer on various projects in support of Wilkinsburg.

For additional information contact Robert Beauregard, 648-7634, or the GSPIA admissions office, 648-7640, third floor Forbes Quad.
