Habitat for Humanity

Saturday, April 15, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Habitat for Humanity is a world-wide program with a history of creating safe and affordable housing from existing housing stock. Volunteers will be working alongside Pitt students and low-income individuals to create livable housing in the Braddock area.

First Annual Pittsburgh AIDS Walk

Saturday, April 22, 7:30-10:30 a.m.

Volunteers will register walkers as well as handle entertainment and refreshments.

MS Walk ’95

Sunday, April 23, 8-10 a.m.

Help is needed with registration and set-up.

Third Annual Cardiac Climb

Sunday, April 23, 7:30-10 a.m.

The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences is hosting this 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair. Volunteers will work the water stations for this on-campus event, which will take less than 1 hour.

Pittsburgh Marathon

Sunday, May 7, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Volunteers will be working the finish line in Point State Park — logging times and assisting runners as they cross the finish line.

Mother’s Day gift wrapping to benefit the SIDS Foundation

Saturday, May 13, 2-6 p.m.

Pitt volunteers will be wrapping at Century III Mall.

Race for the Cure (of breast cancer)

Sunday, May 14, 7:30-11:30 a.m.

The race supports mammography and follow-up services for underinsured and uninsured women of western Pennsylvania. Volunteers will assist with the finish line and race take-down.

Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank

Saturday, May 20, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Pitt volunteers will staff a repackaging project to make food ready for distribution.

Pittsburgh Children’s Festival

Sunday, May 21, 2-5 p.m.

Volunteers will serve as ushers, ticket-takers and in food service, as well as assist with arts and crafts.
