University mailing services moving to Point Breeze

University mailing services currently located at the Melwood Warehouse, 480 Melwood Street, are moving to a location in Point Breeze, the Department of Parking, Transportation and Services announced.

First-class mail, bulk mail, central receiving/moving and surplus property components of the Universityπs mailing services are vacating the warehouse during December and should be fully operational in the new location by January, according to Bob Harkins, PTS director. Harkins said there should be minimal disruption of services in the interim.

The services will relocate to the Lexington Technology Facility, 600 Lexington Ave., Point Breeze.

For more information, call 624-3091 (mailing services) or 624-3098 (surplus property). Moving into the University-owned warehouse are plumbing and electrical shops from the basement of Benedum Hall, according to the Office of Facilities Management. The School of Engineering will open new labs in the Benedum Hall basement space by the end of February 1999.
