University officials, student-athletes and the Pitt marching band joined Pittsburgh Steelers owners, past and present Steelers players and coaches, government leaders and other dignitaries June 18 in breaking ground for the Steelers' new stadium on the North Shore. From left: Pitt football coach Walt Harris, Athletic Director Steve Pederson and Chancellor Mark Nordenberg. Following their final Pitt Stadium home football season this fall, the Panthers are scheduled to play home games in Three Rivers Stadium in fall 2000 before moving to the Steelers' new stadium in fall 2001.
