Provost's Distinguished Lecture marks retirement

Cho-yun Hsu, Pitt professor of history and sociology, will mark his retirement by delivering the Provost's Distinguished Lecture tomorrow. Hsu, who joined the Pitt faculty in 1970, is a native of Amoy, China. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from National Taiwan University and a Ph.D. in ancient history from the University of Chicago. On the occasion of his retirement, Hsu has established an endowment at Pitt to provide research stipends for graduate students in Asian history, history and Asian studies. Contributions may be sent to Dianne Dakis, 4E35 Forbes Quad. Make checks payable to the University of Pittsburgh and note C.Y. Hsu Endowment Fund on the check. Hsu's lecture, "Ancient China Revisited," will be at 3 p.m. in Frick Fine Arts Auditorium.
