April 15 deadline to apply for prostate cancer research funding

April 15 is the deadline to apply for funding for pilot research projects in prostate cancer. The Prostate and Urologic Cancer Center of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute is providing up to $20,000 for one-to-two-year grants to support funding, tissue and cell resources, and guidance in the development of prostate cancer research projects.

All faculty members of Pitt and Carnegie Mellon are eligible to apply for the competitive grants. Proposals are solicited twice a year.

Researchers should submit a three-page description of the project. Applicants will be required to make a short presentation about the project to the selection committee. Applications will be evaluated on the scientific quality, translational potential and potential for future external funding. Investigators of projects selected for funding must present quarterly updates.
