Janice M. Minnich

Janice M. Minnich, administrative assistant for marketing and licensing director in Pitt's athletics department, died May 6, 1999. She was 40.

Minnich had more than 20 years of service at Pitt, starting as secretary in the Office of Business and Finance in 1977. She was promoted to executive secretary in 1979 and senior executive secretary in 1986. In 1989, she was named licensing director and administrative assistant to the assistant vice chancellor for business, before moving to athletics in April 1998.

She attended the Bradford Business School in 1976-77 and was a member of St. Agnes Church in North Huntingdon.

She is survived by her husband, James R. Minnich; a son, Jayson R. Minnich; her parents, Gerald and Donna Colbert and a sister, Janine Bell.

The family asks that memorial donations be made to Pitt's University Child Development Center, 635 Clyde Street.
