Nov. 24 is deadline in UPJ suit

Attorneys for Pitt and for Johnstown campus Affirmative Action Director Clea Hollis have begun preparing their cases in a sex and race discrimination lawsuit that Hollis filed against UPJ and its president.

At a conference on Monday, U.S. District Judge D. Brooks Smith gave the two sides until Nov. 24 to prepare their cases.

Hollis sued UPJ and campus president Albert Etheridge in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh last July, claiming she was harassed, demoted, isolated and excluded from campus events to keep her from doing her j ob.

Last month, Judge Smith denied a Pitt motion to dismiss Hollis's lawsuit.
