Bradford gets $46,000 grant for Phase 2 of curriculum reform

The Stackpole-Hall Foundation of Saint Marys has given Pitt's Bradford campus (UPB) a $46,000 grant for phase two of the campus's curriculum reform project, "Connecting Knowledge: A Way of Thinking." Part of UPB's revised general education curriculum, the Connecting Knowledge program is designed to promote learning across disciplines and develop motivation in students.

"The curriculum revisions supported in this project will stimulate critical thinking, use of multiple perspectives in problem solving and intellectual flexibility for the changing demands of today's careers. Students will learn the skills to become lifelong learners," said Carol Baker, UPB dean of academic affairs.

Stackpole-Hall funded the first year of the program last year with a $67,000 grant. The program will continue to be phased in over the next two years.
