Applications due Nov. 22 for PTEI grants
Research grants of up to $20,000 are available from the Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative (PTEI), a cohesive strategy to promote regional economic growth through the advancement and commercialization of University-developed technology.
Projects eligible for grants include biomedical and related technologies associated with engineered tissues, including cell culturing, gene therapy, organ transplant and regeneration, biomaterials, and computer-assisted analysis and design.
Proposals will be reviewed by faculty from Pitt, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Allegheny-Singer Research Institute, Carnegie Mellon and regional business leaders.
Selection will be based on scientific merit and feasibility, product-orientation and commercial potential, and the potential to contribute to regional economic growth.
