Schwarzkopf to speak at scholarship dinner

Desert Storm commander General H. Norman Schwarz-kopf, U.S. Army retired, will speak at the annual Pitt Ambassador Scholarship dinner on April 16 at 6 p.m. in the Pittsburgh Hilton and Towers.

Schwarzkopf will speak on "Leadership: From the War Room to the Boardroom." The Pitt Ambassadors Program is a partnership between the University and area businesses. Each year the ambassadors award two four-year scholarships to area high school students who have chosen to attend Pitt. The scholarships are given to students who have made significant contributions to their schools and communities, and who will benefit from financial assistance. Recipients will be recognized at the dinner.

Reservations can be made by calling Institutional Advancement at 624-5800. The deadline is April 7. All proceeds from the dinner support the scholarships.

Past Pitt Ambassador dinner speakers have included former President George Bush, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
