Kuntu's final production of season runs March 20-April 5

Pitt's Kuntu Repertory Theatre will end its current season, A Celebration of Women, with Shirley M. Hard-Leonard's play "Miss Dessa." Directed by Eileen J. Morris of the Ensemble Theatre in Houston, Tex., the play is a humorous, warm-hearted story about a teacher who works with students and gang members.

Karla Washington plays Miss Dessa, a single parent raising a nephew. Her sisters plot to get her married. The play's theme focuses on women and family relationships.

Other members of the cast include Leo Beatty, Linda Hunt, Esrick O. McCartha, Chanel Smith, Monn Washington and Franklin Westbrooks.

Performances start today, March 20, and continue to April 5, Thursdays through Saturdays at the Masonic Temple.
