Nominations for SAC due by noon, April 20

Saturday, April 20, at noon is the deadline for nominations for membership on Pitt's Staff Association Council (SAC). The membership election is set for the May 14 SAC meeting at noon in 2M/2P56 Forbes Quadrangle. Since there are normally more vacancies on SAC than candidates, nominees are routinely appointed to a seat.

SAC officers will be elected at the group's June 11 meeting. To become an officer, a staff member must have been a member of SAC for at least one year, according to SAC President Brian Hart.

Nomination forms are available on the back of the SAC Quarterly newsletter that was sent to every staff member at the University. Forms also are available by contacting the SAC office, 925 William Pitt Union, 624-4236.

In past years, staff members could only nominate themselves for a seat on SAC. This year, however, they also may nominate another staff member.

Individuals who are nominated by someone else will be contacted by SAC's election committee for their approval prior to the election.
