UPG sponsors children's literature conference

Pitt's Greensburg campus (UPG) will sponsor a children's literature conference on May 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The conference will consist of several workshop sessions, lunch and lectures by children's book author Louis Sachar. Among his works are "There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom," "Dogs Don't Tell Jokes" and "Wayside School Gets a Little Stranger." Workshop sessions will include "What's So Funny: Looking at Humor in Children's Books," "Counting on Books: Using Literature in the Elementary Math Curriculum" and "Picture-book Censorship: A Question of Concern."
