Hart to step down as staff group president

Staff Association Council (SAC) President Brian Hart announced at SAC's May 8 spring assembly that he will be stepping down as president of that organization in June.

Hart has served as SAC president the past two years. He said he will not seek another term for personal reasons that have nothing to do with the organization.

"I need to pay some attention to my job," he said. "I need a little lightening of the pressure, so to speak." Work duties have kept Hart from attending a number of recent SAC meetings. SAC will elect a new president at its June 11 meeting at noon in 2M/P56 Forbes Quadrangle. (At its May 14 meeting, SAC announced the group's membership for the 1997-98 year. See page 7.) Hart said he did not know who will follow him in office, but that he will be ready to help the new president in any way possible. He will remain a member of SAC and serve as a consultant to the new leadership in the post of immediate past president.
