Chancellor to address honors convocation

Chancellor Mark A. Nordenberg will deliver the keynote address at Pitt’s 31st annual honors convocation, set for 2 p.m. Feb. 23 in Carnegie Music Hall.

The convocation recognizes undergraduate, graduate and professional student academic achievement; student leadership, and faculty and staff accomplishments. The event also will mark the 220th anniversary of the University’s founding.

Nordenberg came to Pitt in 1977, joining the School of Law faculty. He served as law dean, 1985-1993, then as interim provost and senior vice chancellor for academic affairs, 1993-1994. In 1994, he was elevated to the rank of Distinguished Service Professor of Law. The University’s Board of Trustees elected him interim chancellor in 1995 and he was named Pitt’s 17th chancellor a year later.
