Oakland farmers' market returns

The Oakland Farmers’ Market returns June 29 with more than 10 vendors featuring homegrown and homemade local products including fresh produce, cut flowers, baked goods, salsa, homemade smoothies, pierogies and hummus. In addition, organic produce and meats will be available.

The market will be held 3:30-6:30 p.m. each Friday through Nov. 16 on Sennott Street between Atwood Street and Meyran Avenue. Free parking is available in the adjacent UPMC lot.

The June 29 kickoff coincides with the Oakland Business Improvement District’s Fitness Friday, which will bring a variety of health and wellness activities to the UPMC lot from 3:30-5 p.m. Experts from a variety of organizations will provide health, fitness and nutrition advice, blood pressure screenings and more.
