Relay for Life: American Cancer Society
Friday, April 4, 4:30-10:30 pm
Saturday, April 5, 8:30 am-10:30 am
Volunteers will assist in setting up, staffing and closing out this overnight event on the Cathedral of Learning lawn. Volunteers will assist with luminaria lighting, hosting the cancer survivor reception, managing games and tearing down the tents. Indicate your choice of shifts.
Child Advocate Orientation
Thursday, April 10, noon-1 pm
The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program is looking for volunteers to serve as advocates on behalf of abused and neglected children in Allegheny County. This information session will be held at an on-campus location. To learn more about CASA, visit www.pgh-casa.org.
Healthy Family Fun Day
Saturday, April 12, noon-6 pm
Assist the University’s Center for Minority Health in a day of healthy family fun at the Kingsley House in East Liberty. Volunteers will assist with hosting a town meeting, registration, health screenings and children’s exploration of health disparity issues. Four volunteers are needed to drive mini-van shuttles.
Global Links Medical Supplies
Wednesday, May 7, 5:30-7:30 pm
Volunteers will be working at the Bloomfield office of Global Links, which collects and repackages surplus medical supplies for distribution worldwide.
Pedal Pittsburgh
Sunday, May 18, 6:30-11 am
Volunteers will manage registration for this bicycling event, which benefits the Community Design Center of Pittsburgh.
