Three students get Udall honorable mentions

Rising seniors James A. Ostendorf, Theresa L. Romanosky and Ashley V. Schmid have won honorable mentions in the national Morris K. Udall Scholarship competition.

Ostendorf is majoring in geology, history and political science and pursuing certificates in Latin American studies, Russian and East European studies and public and professional writing.

Romanosky is an environmental studies major with a minor in economics.

Schmid is majoring in environmental studies and pursuing certificates in Latin American studies and global studies. She also is a student representative on the University Senate plant utilization and planning committee and its sustainability subcommittee.

Students earning honorable mentions in the competition receive a $350 award.
