Katz staffers treat Game 7 Gang attendees to ballpark eats

Katz Graduate School of Business staff members Jim Cronin and Margie Jonnet greeted lunch guests outside Mervis Hall as part of the annual celebration of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ 1960 World Series victory over the New York Yankees. To treat the Game 7 Gang revelers to an extra special celebration during Pittsburgh’s 250th birthday year, Jonnet garnered food donations and help from co-workers, who grilled 300 hot dogs for the crowd of more than 200 people.

In keeping with tradition, baseball fans gathered Oct. 13 at the Forbes Field wall to hear a recording of the radio broadcast of the game that Pirates’ second baseman Bill Mazeroski ended with a tie-breaking bottom-of-the-ninth-inning home run to give the Pirates a 10-9 victory.
