Children’s Hospital Orientation

Tuesday, April 5, noon-1 pm

Attend this on-campus session to learn about volunteer opportunities – everything from patient escorts to reading to children.

50th Anniversary of Polio Vaccine: A Community Celebration

Sunday, April 10, 3-7 pm

Assist with this anniversary celebration as the Pittsburgh community returns to the site of the first mass polio inoculations 50 years ago in the Cathedral of Learning’s Commons Room.

Oakland Gateway Garden

Saturday, April 16, 10 am-noon

Volunteers will be working at this Oakland location to beautify the highly visible Oakland gateway garden near campus.

Minority Health Month

Saturday, April 30, 9:30 am-1 pm, 12:30-4 pm

As part of National Minority Health Month, the Center for Minority Health is sponsoring community events in Wilkinsburg. Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks.

Pedal Pittsburgh

Sunday, May 15, 6-9 am, 9 am-1 pm, 1-4 pm

The Pittsburgh Community Design Center is sponsoring its annual bicycle ride through the city’s architecturally important neighborhoods. Volunteers will work the South Side registration and finish line.

Senior Olympics Packet Stuffing

Tuesday, May 17, 5 pm

The Senior Olympics Summer Games are coming to the Petersen Events Center. This volunteer opportunity will be at an on-campus location. Volunteers are welcome to join in before or after 5 pm, depending on when their workday ends.
