The Oakland Transportation Management Association last week released a roundup of the move-in dates and accompanying street closures for all of Pittsburgh’s colleges.
Here’s what to look out for in the Oakland area:
University of Pittsburgh
Pitt students begin to move-in Aug. 18, continuing through Aug. 26. Classes begin Aug. 27.
Several streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 18-26:

University Place – Closed between Fifth Avenue and O’Hara Street

North Bouquet Street – Closed between Fifth and O’Hara

Thackeray Street – Closed between Fifth and O’Hara

Lothrop Street – Closed between Fifth and Victoria Street

Upper University Drive – Already closed due to construction between Allequippa Street and University Drive C
Over 250 parking meters also will be bagged from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 18-26 and reserved for University use.
On Aug. 26, Schenley Drive closes for Pitt’s Welcome Back Bash. All other street closures and parking meter restrictions will end at 7 p.m. Aug. 26.
Carnegie Mellon University
New students move-in on Aug. 21. The following street closures will be in place:

Morewood Avenue between Forbes and Fifth

Margaret Morrison Street on campus

Tech Street on campus
CMU returning students begin to move-in Aug. 25. Classes begin Aug. 30. Streets that were closed on Aug. 21 will be open to traffic, but congestion is expected throughout the area.
Carlow University
Move-in begins for Aug. 16-17. No road closures are being put in place around the campus and peak impacts are anticipated today and tomorrow and again this weekend, Aug. 21-22. Classes begin Aug. 23.
