Celebration of Mildred Miller Posvar's life set for March 3

A celebration of the life of Mildred Miller Posvar — a renowned opera singer who was married to former Chancellor Wesley Posvar — will be held at 2 p.m. March 3 at Heinz Memorial Chapel.

All members of the University of Pittsburgh community and the public are welcome to attend the musical ceremony for Posvar, who died in November. She spent more than 20 years performing at the Metropolitan Opera and later founded the Pittsburgh Festival Opera.

The Pitt Men’s Glee Club will perform, and former Chancellor Mark Nordenberg will make remarks.
