Enjoy food trucks, fashion show and festival while helping United Way

The Office of Business, Hospitality, and Auxiliary Services will host a Fall Fashion and Food Truck Fest from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 4 on the William Pitt Union Plaza to benefit the Pitt’s United Way drive.

Six local food trucks —Smokeland BBQ, Emporio Meatballs, Haskel’s Delicatessen, Pittsburgh Pierogies, Steel City Chimneys and Totopo Tacos — will be on hand and a portion of food sales from the trucks and for dining locations in the University Club will be donated to the United Way.

Weather-permitting, the fashion show will take place at 12:30 p.m. outdoors in the William Pitt Union Plaza. If there is inclement weather, the stage will be moved to the lower lounge on the first floor inside the William Pitt Union. Pitt student volunteers will be model the latest in Pitt gear and curated vintage items, and music will be provided by WPTS, Pitt’s student-operated radio station.

The event is free to attend. A portion of the day’s retail sales from The Pitt Shop, The University Store on Fifth, and Maggie & Stella’s will be donated to United Way. The University Stores will have a pop-up retail location near the stage.

Pitt will rollover your payroll pledge from last year’s campaign (same contribution amount and same designations) into the 2022-23 campaign. If you would like to review last year's payroll donation or make any changes, please do so between now and Dec. 14 by logging into my.pitt.edu. If you chose fewer than 12 pay periods last campaign and take no action to update this year's pledge, your 2023 pledge will remain the same and will begin with January’s payroll deduction. Payroll rollover applies to Greensburg, Johnstown and Pittsburgh campuses only.
