To say that the “New glass-covered UPMC hospital will tower over Fifth Avenue” is a gross understatement.  This proposed building is ridiculously oversized for its site.  But anything that UPMC or Walnut Capital proposes is virtually a done deal.  Together they'll turn Oakland into a canyon of skyscrapers ill-proportioned to the neighborhood.
